Engagements Do A Body Good
Yes, yes, I know that Kimberly Stewart and Talan Torriero (God, I feel like a bad person just for knowing their names) have “broken off” their “engagement”. I was doing my best to avoid posting on this news, thinking that the fact I posted on their “engagement” last week was awful enough, but then stupid CNN had to go and comment on it (way after it was the lead story—the LEAD STORY—on People.com yesterday), and that really left me no choice. CNN? Really?? This is actual news??
The official breakup statement, by the way, is one of the better things I’ve read in my life. I’m just curious how many minutes of giggling were endured before it was written:
“”It was just too soon to enter into a lifelong commitment. It is better to have a brief engagement than a short marriage. The couple continue to share their time together and remain open to whatever the future may hold.”
These two have the smartest publicists ever.

I'm On Team Nick
It appears Nick Lachey may be able to get his mind off his divorce, by working. He's developing a sitcom for WB, in which he will play a newlywed who also happens to be a famous baseball player. The co-creator of the project is Danny Jacobson, who also created one of my all-time favorite sitcoms, Mad About You. Lachey is no stranger to acting as he appeared in several episodes of Charmed last season. Plus, look how cute he is in that photo!
I'm really rooting for Nick on this one. On Newlyweds, it was obvious he was on his own when it came to his career and he really, really worked hard for it. Remember when he scraped together money to re-shoot a music video because the original version looked stupid? He strikes me as a hard-working, honest guy who got roped into the crazy Simpson family agenda. Go, Nick!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Sorry to make this so short, but I have a lot more "researching" to do for tomorrow's morning show. They are looking for some "odd news" (that's what the program director told me), so if you know of any, let me know :)
